Wreaths of Love - Established 2011

Wreaths of Love was established by Amy Kendrick and Christine Whitfield in October 2011.

A friend of mine, Jessica, made a wreath she discovered on pinterest.com. I fell in love with it instantly. It just looked all soft and cuddly. I first thought was – I have to make me one of these and I did. It soon became addicting but really how many wreaths can one person have.

I’m just one of those people that think- if I love it everyone will love it too. I started thinking about who could benefit most from this gift?

The answer was simple, the people who make us who we are today. All our lives they plant little seeds in us so that when we are grown we are giving, responsible, loving adults.

 Our grandparents.

Our grannys spend all there lives raising children, cooking Sunday dinner, taking the time to pass on the simple things in live like sewing and cooking. We could always count on them to read us a story while swinging on the porch.

Papas taking the time to teach us how to fish and turn a stick into a bow and arrow. Papas making granddaughters feel like the princesses they are.

I knew I would need a sidekick so I recruited my sister Christine. She is crafty and not afraid to make a decision. I could count on her.

It was kind of close to Christmas, so we decided to give small wreaths to a nursing home and give the larger wreaths to elderly shut-ins.

Our Goal – 100 wreaths.
